The sewing and embroidery department, funded by the Women and Child Development Scheme, Gandhinagar, offers free training in various skills to women including those who are illiterate, elderly, or widowed. The training includes sewing, cutting, machine embroidery, woolen embroidery, beadwork, patchwork, beauty parlour skills, mehendi, computer skills, dance, spoken English, thread weaving, and fashion designing. Job placements are also provided.
Training in sewing and embroidery is provided. This training helps women manage their households and earn supplementary income, which can be used for their children's education, health, and other expenses. By becoming self-reliant, women develop a sense of self-respect and dignity, which is a key goal of this department.
